Genetically Modified Food



Genetically modified foods are formulated by transferring genetic material from one organism to another. Proponents say they will reduce dependence upon pesticides, improve the environment, and reduce world hunger. Opponents raise concerns about inadequate testing for safety, potential environmental damage, and the furthering of economic inequalities.
