Description of the Validity and Reliability Graphic

This graphic depicts an X-axis (education) and a Y-axis (income). A straight line (Y1) is drawn parallel to the X-axis about half way up the Y-axis. A second straight line (Y2) is drawn at a 45-degree angle from the intersection of the XY axis to the upper right section of the graphic. Bell-shaped curves are marked along this line. These bell-shaped curves are narrow. That is, they are small enough that Y1 is not included within them except for the point at which Y1 and Y2 intersect.
