Sociological Theory

This concentration focuses on the core area of social theory which offers ways of understanding social structures and social systems from early times to today whether these are expressed as paradigms, models, metaphors or more formally. The student in the area of sociological theory may have any number of foci from classical eras such as structuralism or functionalism and Marxist perspectives to modern approaches such as critical, feminist and other theories.
