Growing up in Omaha, Nebraska and after attending Wayne State College I moved
to Ames to pursue my graduate studies in Sociology at ISU. My two areas of
study are family and social psychology. My research consists of studying
contemporary family change and relationships through a qualitative focus. I am
particularly interested in recent family changes such as stepfamilies and
cohabitation. In addition to my research, I am extremely passionate about the
importance of teaching sociology especially at the undergraduate level. When
I'm not busy with school I enjoy spending time with my husband and our dog by
going camping, running, and taking long walks.
